About This Spot

Stepping into Rib No. 7 feels like uncovering a quietly refined gem tucked within the bustling heart of Midtown Manhattan. The space strikes a thoughtful balance — intimate but open, with lighting that gently embraces each table without drowning out the hum of conversation. It’s the kind of place where the rhythm slows just enough for you to savor not only your meal but also the company and moment.

Here, Korean barbecue transcends the typical grill-at-your-table formula, inviting you into a shared ritual guided by attentive staff who handle much of the cooking, letting you focus on the experience itself. The air carries the subtle sizzle of premium cuts meeting the flame, punctuated by the delicate aromas of marinated beef and traditional stews, weaving a sensory bridge between bold Korean flavors and the familiarity of fine dining.

The atmosphere effortlessly suits a range of occasions — whether a quiet date night, a small group gathering, or a special family outing. Conversation flows in a soft chorus, unhurried and genuine, amid the soft clinking of glasses filled with thoughtfully crafted cocktails that add unexpected twists, like the delicate interplay of tea and soju in one signature drink.

As you share the variety of banchan that arrive in careful progression, each bite offers nuanced textures and well-seasoned layers, complementing the rich, tender meats and fresh seafood options. The service quietly orchestrates this culinary journey, attentive yet unobtrusive, encouraging moments of connection without rush.

Rib No. 7 invites you beyond the familiar sights and sounds of New York’s dining scene, offering instead a gentle immersion into a place where flavors are savored, and time seems to stretch just enough to make good company and carefully prepared food matter even more.

Thursday night walkin at ~1730p for the restaurant (there's also a bar) Time to water ~2mins or less. Side dishes are flavored well, the meats are either tender or crunchy. Chef cooks for you, able to focus on the vibes (quiet to medium volume chatter ambiance, fellow diners are mostly in work or casual attire) Detailed order and receipt on last page. Would come again.

Best Korean BBQ in NYC! Hands down, the cuts are amazing, the meat very flavorful, the staff attentive and friendly, and the way each employee checks your table when they pass ensures a great dining experience. We've been to several similar places in New York, but keep coming back to Rib No. 7. While it may seem pricey to some, we find it reasonably priced for NYC, especially for the quality you get. You can't go wrong with any of the meats, but our favorite is their signature meat, a marinated oodae galbi. Looking forward to continuing to dine there often and I hope anyone reading this has as great an experience as we always do. Enjoy!

First of all, the cocktail I ordered earl gray soju was quite unique, tea and liquor combination on the sweet side. Raw oyster was huge and fresh. We also ordered beef tartare for appetizers which is very tasty. A couple of friends who don’t eat raw beef tried it and very impressed by the freshness of meat. Combo B is enough for 4 people, and combo A for 2-3 people. Waitress handled the grill for us so all we need to do was relaxing and enjoying the food. I’d recommend this restaurant for small or big groups.

First time here. I brought my son with me. 5/5 for the ambiance. Very clean, lighting was dim but not too dark, table space was a big enough for the food we ordered. I would consider this place family friendly but I more recommend for a cute date night. 5/5 service. Although it was my first time here, been to a few similar locations in the area and I would say the service here was wonderful and a lot better than the others in area. My waiter was very kind. He explained the items on the menu and gave us recommendations on what goes best with the side dishes 5/5 Food. I enjoyed the food a lot. I thought it was enough for two. Our waiter cooked the food to our desired temperature. I appreciate that our waiter inquired about any food allergies because my son has a peanut allergy. 5/5 bathroom. The bathroom is very clean. The sign in the bathroom was very funny to me.

A perfect blend of Korean-style banchan and high-quality American beef. Every bite felt like a cross-cultural harmony—bold, savory, and balanced. The rich flavor of premium U.S. beef paired with the variety and brightness of traditional Korean side dishes? Unexpectedly perfect.

This is a bit late to review but we have been here several times and it is truly one of the best Korean bbq places we have been. Reina was wonderful at our table and answered any questions we had about the style of cooking and the food. She made great cocktail recommendations and was truly a pleasure to be around. The cocktails are fantastic and the type of meat they use truly seems superior to other Korean BBQ places we frequent. It’s a little pricier but i can truly say it is absolutely worth that smaller extra cost. During the week they also have a fabulous lunch special so you can get a taste of what they offer on the regular menu. We truly love this spot.
